GST REG-01

We have filled 8 of 12 fields from what you already told us and the documents in your vault. Check them, then take them to the portal.

4 fields need your eye. We would rather flag these than leave them silently blank or guess on your behalf.

  1. Legal name of the business *

    Only you can answer this

You will need to fill this in yourself

This has to match your Certificate of Incorporation character for character, so it only exists once incorporation is done. Finish that step and this fills itself.

  2. Trade name

    Only you can answer this

You will need to fill this in yourself

The name customers actually see, if it differs from the legal name. Optional, but it is what appears on your invoices, so most founders fill it.

  3. PAN of the business *

    Only you can answer this

You will need to fill this in yourself

Your business gets its own PAN, issued automatically with the Certificate of Incorporation -- you do not apply for it separately. It arrives with incorporation, and then this field is answerable.

  4. Constitution of the business *

    Worked out for you

    Private Limited Company

    From the structure you chose.

  5. State *

    From what you told us

    Rajasthan

From what you told us. GST is registered state by state: a second premises in another state means a second registration, not an amendment to this one.

  6. District *

    Worked out for you

    Jaipur

Worked out from Jaipur. The portal lists revenue districts rather than cities, which is why this is not simply "Jaipur".

  7. Principal place of business *

    Only you can answer this

You will need to fill this in yourself

We know you are in Jaipur, but GST needs the exact premises and proof of it -- an electricity bill or property tax receipt, plus a rent agreement and a no-objection letter if you rent. Officers do visit. Your DigiLocker Address proof is your own correspondence address, not the premises you trade from, so we have not put it here.

  8. Nature of business at this place *

    Worked out for you

Factory / Manufacturing; Wholesale business; Warehouse / Depot; Export

Worked out from what you sell and how you sell it. Tick every one that applies -- an application narrower than your invoices is the sort of mismatch that gets queried later.

  9. Reason for registering *

    Worked out for you

Exporter -- registration needed to file a Letter of Undertaking

Exports are zero-rated, but you need a GSTIN to file the LUT and to claim input refunds. Registering is what makes the zero-rating usable.

  10. Do you supply through an e-commerce operator? *

    From what you told us

    No

From what you told us -- you sell direct, not through a platform. Change this the day you list on one, because the answer changes what you owe.

  11. PAN of the authorised signatory *

    From your DigiLocker

    XXXX-XXX-4417 (simulated)

From your DigiLocker PAN card, issued by Demo Founder (Jaipur). Shown masked here; only you and the portal ever see it in full.

  12. Aadhaar of the authorised signatory

    From your DigiLocker

    XXXX-XXXX-9012 (simulated)

From your DigiLocker Aadhaar, issued by Demo Founder (Jaipur). Shown masked, always. Completing Aadhaar authentication is what gets a registration through in about a week instead of a month.

Take this to GST Portal

The next screen is our own replica of that portal, clearly marked. BizSeva never contacts a live government system. In production this hands off through the portal's own integration, and you would still review and sign the filing yourself.
